8 Phase Moon

Originally tried making this with flat planes, but the clipping was so bad that it made the moon jitter between different half phases on either side. No flow at all! I resorted to  two star like shapes, each with four points, rotated and leveled to make eight distinct "frames" that don't flicker between unwanted faces during. I recommend this two-mesh solution for any 8 frame pseudo animation!
